I’m a bibliophile, theatre geek turned graphic designer. Click around and check out some of my work.

Looking to design a new blog? I’d be happy to help you. I designed and maintain Boston Lyric Opera’s company blog, In the Wings and I facilitated the design and implementation of the company’s new website in 2011. I’ve worked with Blogger, WordPress and Tumblr.

Tangentially related, I am fascinated by cover art and how it affects our experiences as readers. I keep a blog of books that I’ve read and my impressions of the cover art (Cover Art Conversations). I’d love to hear your opinion.

Invitation (Gala)

Each season Boston Lyric Opera hosts an annual Gala. Every year the theme is different and often plays on elements of the current performance season. During the 2011/2012 Season, Boston Lyric Opera held ‘Hocus Pocus’ — an elegant, Halloween for grown-ups. The invitation I designed for this event was a tri-fold piece, with each fold opening as follows. I created the experience of entering deeper into the forest. (View invitation as PDF)

The elements of the forest set the tone for the remainder of the suite for this event – posters, thank you cards, program book and the visual elements of the room for the evening. Elements of the design, such as the trees and the silver moon were projected on to the walls of the ballroom and dictated the table-scape at the event.
